Just before we went on holiday (lots of posts to follow soon!) I visited the Chelsea Flower Show with my Mother-in-Law and we had a fantastic day.
We could smell these gorgeous hyacinths before we could see them!
To mark what would have been Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday, David Austin Roses have launched this lovely new peach coloured rose. The display also featured the original illustration by Sir Quentin Blake and a giant bronze peach!
The 5,000 Poppies project was a beautiful international tribute to the sacrifice of all servicemen and women, their families and communities in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. You can read more about the wonderful project here.
Some of these peonies were as big as dinner plates!
I love Amaryllis and it was so refreshing to see them in vases, rather than in pots. I think they are very underrated and underused as a standalone flower.
As we were leaving, these blue and white displays caught our eye, aren’t they pretty?
I shall be back in a few days with the first post about our holiday!

Oh Morwenna–I always love your posts about flowers!!! What a display!! First off………..I've never seen hyacinths bunched together that way—the fragrance must have been incredible!! The roses- spectacular! The Roald Dahl peach rose is pretty special. I have a just joey rose, in honor of my Dad, Joseph—it bloomed for the first time this year. 2 magnificent blooms off of the tiniest little plant. It's much like this color and it's lovely. Thank you for sharing!! It made my day!! xoxo
