I am now back into the swing the things and all of the usual rhythms and routines have been restored. Unfortunately the weather has been wet and windy with just the occasional glimpse of sunshine. I do hope it returns next week!
I have also been experiencing technical difficulties with the blog hosting site and losing the past ten years worth of photos on a defunct hard drive. After a sleepless night, we thankfully managed to locate most of them on another, much forgotten about hard drive. Needless to say, we are thanking our lucky stars and have proceeded to back up and save to multiple hard drives, discs and The Cloud, every few minutes!
These are some of the things that have made me happy this week…
Ahh, Peonies. These are Sarah Bernhardt, the same variety I had in my bridal bouquet
Due to the unseasonable weather, we have been craving comfort food, so I made a huge pot of delicious Lemon Chicken and Orzo Soup from Nine & Sixteen
The wind has whipped some of the pretty petals into confetti, but there are still plenty of David Austin’s The Generous Gardener roses left
After thinking we had lost so many precious photos, it was such a relief to find all of the important moments, including Poppy’s puppy photos. This is from the day we brought her home, Friday 23rd April 2010
And this one of the three of us during Poppy’s first walk a few weeks later 🙂
Happy Friday and happy July!
What has made you happy this week?
the REAL girl says
As always, I'm delighted to read your posts, hear about your adventures, and look at your wonderful photography. I am so happy that you have located the photographs. You know, the 'new way' of saving photos digitally has its ups and downs, doesn't it?
I am thankful for: no hail so far this summer—I keep covering things when threatening clouds are close.
I am thankful for: the flowers and garden vegetables which are delighting me every day with their growth and colors
I am thankful for every morning, the sunshine, the air we breathe and the people I get to share each day with
I am thankful for opportunities that arise to enjoy and learn from
I am thankful for people who are able to be positive in a world of change and chaos, for it is in the moments of gratefulness that we see truth
