I don’t usually make New Years resolutions as I think everyday is a fresh start brimming with countless opportunities to do a little more, to live with intention and to make a special effort. Every day has the potential to be a great day so why wait until January?!
I am loathe to use the term YOLO (you only live once), however I fully agree with the notion of living each and every day to the fullest. So I too embrace living each day in the knowledge that this is our one and only chance and we will never live to experience this moment ever again, so let’s make this one count.
There is a charming article doing the rounds on Facebook recently and I found it very thought provoking and inspiring. I decided to research the author, 90 year old Regina Brett and see if she had any other pearls of wisdom. It turns out that Regina is in fact 56, not 90! You can read more about the journalist and her amusing account of being an urban legend here. You can read the 50 life lessons here. It doesn’t really matter to me who wrote it and how are old they are, I just think it is a superb list of life lessons that most of us can relate to.
These are a few of my favourites
In all the planning for the next twelve months let us not forget to live in the here and now, enjoying the simple pleasures of each and every day.
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year making every day count.

Each day presents us with "gifts!" It is a good thing to have open hands to be able to receive them!

It's a very good attitude to focus on today and to enjoy what you have right now. I agreed with all the tips you posted and follow them most days. Tho I believe we live more than once, but it's a complicated prospect and as this person we are right now, yes once is it. If at the end of the day we can say hmm this was a pretty nice day, then everything is ok. ♥

Love this. Though I have to be honest and say that sometimes you get knocks so shocking that it isn't always easy to brush them off and look on the bright side. I'm not saying that to rain on your parade – I actually wholeheartedly agree with your post and I love how inspiring it is – it's just the way I'm feeling right now. Our year has not got off to a good start, and while we have now got our heads around it as CAN see light at the end of the tunnel, it has been a difficult week.
However. I'm a 'glass half full' person, and tend to look on the cheery side rather than bleak. Just a little tricky some days!
But enough of that. You are right. We need to be thankful for the days, and all fabulousness in each one.
Happy New Year lovely lady xx

I think it's a wonderful post—I firmly believe that we don't have enough affirmations of all the positive, but instead hear constant bombardments of negativity, hatred, war, killing. There are so many wonderful, loving, beautiful people in the world and so many incredible things to see and do. If each of us, just one time per day do two things:
1. think of something we are grateful for
2. think a positive thought and send that message out into the world…
oh what a better place it would be….and for us, too!!!!!!
Instead of worrying about traffic, let someone slip in who is waiting to pull out to turn. Instead of listening to the horrific news at the end of the evening, read a book, write in your journal, tweet to a friend.
I love it Morwenna….
