Summer has been on a temporary (I sincerely hope!) break these past few weeks. The weather has been temperamental and has had me yearning for some more sunshine before Autumn makes an appearance. This seemed to coincide with Nathan being ever so busy with work and not having an evening off for a while.
Last week the stars aligned bringing sunshine and an evening to spend with my love. We seized the moment and headed to one of our favourite spots for supper on the riverbank.
It was beautifully warm with golden light and a gentle breeze.
Our tummies were rumbling, so it was time to sit back and relax with some splendid wine and homemade locally sourced food from The Boat House

Our perfect evening isn’t complete without darling Poppy!
There is something so peaceful about looking up and watching the leaves ripple in the wind.
It was a blissful evening filled with simple pleasures and the best company I could wish for. Here is to having lots of fun in the summer sun!

these are so lovely!!! The colored boats remind me of small harbors in Italy, but yet so very different….the fields, the trees, the water….very Martha's Vineyard-like! Love how Poppy wanders about, enjoying all of it as well. Rain this week….use it to soak into the Earth and make the last of summer's blooms even grander! Here's to sunshine, good food, and fun!! xoxo Cheers!

Thank you Joann 🙂 I completely agree, this stretch of the river reminds me of MV too, there are even a few houses that wouldn't look out of place on the Cape!
My hydrangeas are thoroughly enjoying the rain, so here is to lots of summer fun with and abundance of sunshine and a few drops of rain!

Oh my! His and hers both look tempting, but I think that lobster is calling me! And that brownie looks divine! I'm glad the sun made an appearance and you were able to enjoy a lovely evening with your love and Poppy, of course! XO
