On Wednesday, my Mother-in-Law and I travelled to London for our annual visit to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. As always, we had a wonderful day (even though the pollen was the worst we have ever encountered!) admiring the impressive show gardens, appreciating the expert growers and their beautiful flowers.
I could imagine Poppy snuggled up in this!
Slightly off topic, but I loved this lampshade! It immediately made me think of Tessa of Nine+Sixteen and her lovely interior designs.
Our favourite show garden was the The Trailfinders South African Wine Estate, especially the cultivated garden just outside of the Cape Dutch homestead…we were ready to move in!
Be still, my beating heart! These ‘Café au Lait’ Dahlia’s were spectacular, the beautiful heads were the size of dinner plates!
These striking roses looked as though they were painted with watercolours!
A beautiful display by Birmingham City Council celebrating the 70th anniversary of the arrival of the Windrush in Britain.
I love these fun pineapples! They reminded me of a vibrant Lilly Pulitzer print.
Sylvester’s favourite plant, catmint. He can often be seen nuzzling them in the garden!
These pretty pink fuchsia’s always remind me of sweet little dancing ballerinas.
Alongside roses and foxgloves, columbines are some of my favourite flowers from childhood.
This display by Flowers from the Farm was another one of our favourites. The pretty pastels and heavenly scent made our knees weak! We were thrilled that it won a well deserved gold.
You all know I have a soft spot for poppies ;
Psychedelic hydrangeas!
We are already looking forward to next year’s show!
