We have been experiencing some very warm weather here in the south of England these past few weeks. It has been so warm that mother nature has been rather confused with plants and trees blooming for the second time this year, believing they are entering the spring season. There have been so many birds singing in the hedgerows and swallows darting through the evening sky.
In our garden we still have Sweetpeas, Dahlias, Cosmos and an abundance of tomatoes which is rather unusual in Mid-October. There are still green tomatoes on the vines, so if the warmth continues I should be gathering another harvest next week.
This is the second harvest this week and I have great plans for the scarlet jewels, some are destined for my favourite roasted tomato soup and the rest will be made into a sweet and spicy relish.
Happy Friday sweethearts

yum! They look gorgeous. I'm still gathering tomatoes from the garden too. I'm crying out for some decent rain, but the sunshine does have its plus sides.
have a lovely weekend xx

These look just LUSCIOUS!!! Oh my…..same here with the weather….last weekend was super cold and blustery and this weekend promises to be very very warm and sunny—real summertime weather. I've gathered some tomatoes this week as well, but I'm quite afraid that the many green ones still on the vine maybe green and frozen in the days ahead….maybe you'll share your wonderful soup recipe!!!

Dearest Morwenna,
How wonderful that you have been blessed with warm weather in the Fall! It must be lovely to see such an abundance of flowers in your October garden! Your tomato crop looks picture perfect! I love their bright red colour and the tiny red polka dot plate! Roasted tomato soup sounds delicious! Have a wonderful weekend, sweetie! xxoo

I am so late posting a little note, forgive me! How blessed to have a bounty of tomatoes!! Fresh produce from one's own garden is heavenly! My father-in-law used to raise beefsteak tomatoes, so flavorful and juicy, I could have had a dinner just of those!! Thank you, honey, for the mail…just darling, just like you!! Love and hugs, Sherry xo
