Kale Chips have been doing the rounds on food blogs and Pinterest for quite some time, but it has taken me until now to jump on the bandwagon.
Perhaps it is because they look so unappealing!
I finally decided to see what all the fuss was about and to my surprise they are utterly delicious! They are also super healthy, ridiculously simple and take mere moments to prepare and cook.
Kale Chips
1 bunch/2 large handfuls of Curly Kale
1 tbsp Olive Oil
¼ tsp Sea Salt
Conventional oven – Preheat to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark4
Fan oven – Preheat to 160°C/320°F/Gas Mark3
Trim approximately 2.5cm/1 inch off the ends of the stalks and remove any tough ribs
Tear the leaves into slightly larger than bite size pieces
Place the kale on a baking sheet/sheet pan
Drizzle the kale with the olive oil and toss to coat to evenly
Sprinkle the kale with the sea salt
Bake for approximately 12-15 minutes until crisp, turning the kale once half way through
Let the kale chips cool on the baking sheet for 1 to 2 minutes before transferring to a plate and devouring
Trust me, they taste much better than they look!

This sounds good, though I must say that my favorite way to eat kale is just sauteed, with garlic and olive oil. Kale was grown in my Dad's garden when I was younger, and we now grow it in our fall garden – if we are able to get it to cooperate.:-)

hmm. not seen it, but had heard of it. So it's just crispy Kale then? I should give it a go.

Oh Morwenna, I'm so happy that you've tried them. They are wonderfully delicious and so healthy as well!! Wonderful!!
They can also be flavored with garlic sea salt or tossing a bit of garlic in with the oil.
Lovely!!
