As I mentioned in my Valentine’s Day post last year, I believe that every day should be filled of love, romance, passion and happiness and we do not require a Saint (or Hallmark!) to remind us that we love and care for each other. However I am not a cynic and I like any excuse to celebrate life with my loved ones, so why not let St. Valentine be the reason to celebrate today!
Nathan is working today and this evening so we are celebrating on Sunday instead, but that is fine with us as we don’t like to go out to eat on Valentine’s surrounded by lots of other couples and paying inflated prices. Instead I will cook organic sirloin steaks with the works and make Nathan’s favourite sticky toffee pudding.
I had grand plans for Valentine’s Day crafts this year. I wanted to make cards, bunting, tissue paper pom poms, decorated sugar cookies and boozy truffles. However this rotten bronchitis has really got the better of me. I have just finished a course of yucky strong steroids, which have finally started to take effect, but I am still an asthmatic mess. Just doing the most basic of tasks leaves me exhausted and breathless so I have not been able to craft and send little somethings to dear friends. Oh well at least this gives me an excuse to go to town with Easter crafts and cards!
Wishing you my lovely readers and friends a very Happy Valentine’s Day ♥

totally agree with you about the inflated prices, makes me so angry.
Bill said that yesterday he saw blokes panic buying £35 bouquets in Tesco that looked like they'd seen better days! I can quite imagine, and that's why I always tell him not to buy flowers for me. That said, we've ordered some for the Girl this year as a surprise. She asked for some (though I think she's forgotten!) but I didn't order red roses, nooo, I chose a bouquet of pink lisianthus & pink roses. Much nicer for a little girl :O)
Hope you are well and truly on the mend now.
Happy Valentine's Day, lovely lady xx

Happy Valentine's day to you and Nathan! I love the cute valentine cards, they're adorable! Your organic steak dinner sounds fabulous! And guess what? I made sticky toffee pudding for our dessert tonight as well, using a recipe that Rachel posted – a la Nigella. :o)
I'm so sorry to hear that you are still feeling under the weather. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a wonderful date with Nathan on Sunday!!
xoxoxo

Oh, I couldn't agree more…the tulips I saw at the market Saturday for $7/bunch were $15/bunch this morning…it has gotten so out of hand! So, hubs and I and our no. 3 son opted for a nice shrimp fettucine, greek salad, etc. here at home…with Proseco and chocolates to finish us off!! You and your sweet Nathan will celebrate another day..maybe you'll feel well enough to really enjoy it…xo Love and hugs to both, and litle Poppy & cat friends

Oh my goodness Morwenna….I do hope this terrible grip eases soon from you….my goodness; it must truly like you. Offend it…..eat garlic and onions and tell Nathan to stand back; you're attacking this vicious fiend of asthmatic proportions.
Have you inhaled hot steam…drape a towel over your head and breathe in steam….in the sink or over a hot pot. Fill with herbs and essential oils, especially eucalyptus, rosemary, lemon.
I hope you feel better quickly….a winter can be brutal when you're not feeling well; keep warm darling….
xoxo
