This week has been wet and wild here on the South Coast, but it has obviously been nothing in comparison to what has hit the Eastern seaboard of America. Hurricane Sandy left a wake of destruction and there is a lot of work that needs to be done to get everyone back on their feet. These awful situations really do bring the best out of kind hearted people and it has really warmed my heart to see the generosity of those helping in this time of need.
These are my favourite things which have made me happy this week…
We really enjoyed dressing our bay window in the lounge for Halloween (please excuse the television!). We had the most trick-or-treaters ever and everyone seemed to be having a fun and a spooktacular Halloween!
Last week Nathan turned 30 on the day that the new James Bond film Skyfall was released so we went to dinner and to see the movie to celebrate. It was absolutely fantastic and in my opinion the best Bond movie ever. Daniel Craig was obviously sublime, but so were the storyline, Javier Bardem as the baddie, Dame Judi Dench as M and Adele’s epic song
From the glamour of James Bond to the reality of housekeeping! Our old vacuum was beyond help and driving me crazy, so we finally jumped on the Dyson bandwagon and I am thrilled! As mundane as it seems, I really am happy about our new addition. I am now able to zip around the house in no time at all which leaves me more time to do the things I love
The last of the hydrangeas
It is the season finale of the glorious Downton Abbey. It has been a fantastic third series with many highs and lows and I cannot wait to see what is in store for us tonight.
What has made you happy this week?

I've a few "happy" things. First, after spraining my ankle almost two weeks ago, it continues along the road, albeit slowly, to improvement. Two, our grandson celebrated his 9th birthday on Friday, and we talked to him on the phone (he's two hours away) before he headed out for school. Three, we later went to visit with the grandson for his party on Saturday afternoon. Four, our two other daughters were present at their sister's before the day was over for the celebration of turning nine! Five, we had a safe return, via car, home from our brief time away.
There are many other things I could mention, but I will stop here.:)

Hi sweetie! Love your Hallowe'en window…woooo!! Downton is a happy & sad thing for me this week…I love it but can't believe that it's nearly over again!! It has been the best series yet I think & gone too quickly. Loved the crisp nights with lots of stars & going to my little nephew's spooky Hallowe'en party with a special scary trail my sister & her husband had made at the farm…lit pumpkins showed the way, with a bucket beside each filled with 'horrible' things like jelly that the kids had to plunge their hands into to get to the sweets at the bottom!! Lots to look forward to as well. Sending much love xx

I get excited aobut things like new hoovers too!
Your window looked lovely. I really didn't do anything much in the way of decoration this year. Too much going on, floors were being ripped up and replaced, I just couldn't bear to have cobwebs and skeletons on top of all that! I've promised Girly girl she can have a party next year.
I like watching Downton, but I'm enjoyng 'how britain worked' on C4 at 8 so much more. The bloke – Guy – cracks me up, but he's such a hard worker too. Really shows how much effort went into things that we take for granted now. It's the highlight of my Sunday!
Have a glorious week. Belated bd wishes to your hubby.

Oh, those last hydrangeas; hopefully, you can dry a few of them; they look just lovely dried!! Your Halloween window is so festive; I just love it!! I'm so happy that you had lots of treaters!!
ooh, my five favorite things:
1. We've had our first real snow, where it sticks for the day and coats all the pines…
2. The elk are out in full force in Estes Park and munching on everything in site….
3. seeing a photograph of one of my granddaughters dressed up as a rubik's cube—it was a great costume!
4. getting to spend Halloween with one of my daughters and her soon-to-be fiancee (they are shopping for a ring)
5. going to the live theater performance of Mame this weekend—I can't wait!

Hello sweetie,
I just love your Halloween-themed window! It's no wonder you got so many kids at your door. I think I must be the only tweetette who hasn't watch Downton Abbey yet. I tried looking for it on Netflix, but it's not available there. I have a couple of happy things to share with you. Only one more week for Annabel to remove her sling for good AND my Dad is turning 60 years young this month. Lots to celebrate. Happy November, dear friend! xoxo
