On Saturday Nathan unexpectedly had the day off work, so with no further ado we set off for a day of fun. I had heard some friends at work mention that the fantastic Christchurch Food and Wine Festival was taking place, so we thought it would be the perfect way to start the weekend
These artichokes were captivating (and delicious too!)
Handmade bread sticks and pasta
I am a fish and seafood fiend, so when we spotted these scrumptious dishes being cooked by The Ship Inn I simply had to dive in. It was a difficult decision to make, but the ease of eating the Provençal scallops on the go beat the moules marinère. I wouldn’t usually have scallops for breakfast, but they were absolutely delicious!
When my bakery was in full swing I really wanted to have my own darling little van to sell from at festivals and events like this, so seeing this pretty pink one really pulled on my heart strings!
Italian sweet treats
After having scallops for breakfast, Spanish churros for elevenses seemed equally ridiculous and indulgent, which made it the perfect way to end our time at the festival! Crispy churros sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and a decadent chocolate sauce for dipping (more like a pot de crème au chocolat) were absolutely divine!

Oh wow that looks fantastically fun! I guess if you start as early as breakfast you can walk a bit and return for lunch or dinner. There seem to be fewer food trucks here lately after the big craze a couple years back. There was one cupcake truck but her goodies were surely far less yummy than yours. Looks like you're on the way to a very fun summer! ♥

Thank you Nancy! Absolutely, you could be entertained for hours and return for further courses…now wouldn't that be super fun?! x
