I have been a very excited and busy bee these past few weeks as I have been supplying three local coffee shops some of their baked goodies. I was asked by a local baker who supplies some of the coffee shops in our village and nearby town if I could help cover her maternity for a few months and I of course jumped at the chance! It has all happened rather quickly and whilst it has been immense fun it was also a challenge at first to balance the orders, deliveries, my part time job and the village music festival where I had a stall full of sweet treats. After a few weeks I have found that all important balance and developed a bit of a rhythm which feels wonderful.
These are my favourite things which have made me happy these past few weeks…
Baking, it never ceases to make me happy
Our new camera, a Canon 550D. For the past two years we have been using an Olympus PEN E-P1 which has been fantastic, but we felt it was time to upgrade to a digital SLR
Finding a heart shaped hole in a Sweet William leaf that a slug had beautifully munched
Watching Poppy smell the strawberry plants
Simple joyful daisies
Treat night fish cake and chips by the seaside
What has made you happy lately?

having the girl on summer hols is the one single thing that is reaslly making me full of joy at the moment. I was sad for her to leave Year 1, but couldn't wait to have her home for six weeks. I just hope time doesn't go too quickly.
love your list. Your cakes … yum!
those chips .. yum!
heart shaped slug scoff – so sweet, though annoying!

Again, what a lovely post and I agree with Rachel…I've missed you so much!!!
What has made me happy lately? The comfort of dear friends in some tough times, a wonderful birthday spent with my family having tea and delicious foods, being surprised by Rod with a trip to Celestial Seasonings in Boulder, CO, a week long stay with my granddaughters and having it include a trip to a farm, swimming, and baking together….
I am blessed…

Hello sweetie,
How wonderful that you are busy baking away; supplying coffee shops with your delectable treats! I am SO happy for you! Like I said before, I love your happy posts…they always make ME happy! Thank you for sharing your joys. Despite some difficult days this past week, spending the summer holidays with my girls has been keeping me happy, along with the yellow roses in a vase on my kitchen table. Today, I bought a new magazine, the BBC GoodFood July issue. New magazines always make me happy! Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend! xoxo

Oh doesn't all that look beautiful. The heart hole was really adorable–I have a pic of the litter box where one of my cats peed a perfect heart–they've done several. Unexpected hearts are so magical even in the litter box.
I'm really thrilled for you that you're getting the chance to bake so much and be Rachel for a while and maybe this is your true beginning and your baking career will gain momentum now. I hope so! ♥
