I am so relieved that all of the tedious technical issues I have been experiencing lately are now sorted and I can finally share our holiday!
As I mentioned in this post, the first week of our holiday was spent on Crete, with the following week cruising around the Mediterranean. I thought it would be nice to divide the posts by destination, so this is about our week in Crete and the next will be Santorini.
The first week was all about rest and relaxation and not much else!
The hotel was in a nice location, just a few steps from the beach, bars, restaurants and shops.
You know how utterly smitten I am with flowers and plants, so I was pleased to be able to find an oasis of flora outside our balcony.
I have never seen Cape Honeysuckle before and it was gorgeous. There were dozens and dozens of bees collecting pollen, so I was careful not to get too close. I love bees, but I have a rather rotten reaction to being stung, so better safe than sorry!
The house next door to the hotel had a beautiful garden, complete with Pomegranate trees!
I left the camera in our room for most of this week, we were in a sun-kissed daze and knew that the following week would be full of adventure. For the first time in a long time, we just went with flow and enjoyed reading and relaxing by the pool.
I will be back soon with lots and lots of photos of Santorini!
