October is a beautiful autumn month filled with many happy things to enjoy and celebrate. The nights drawing in and the inclement weather can be bothersome, but there are so many lovely things to help compensate. Pumpkins, woodsmoke, leaves turning, cobwebs glistening in the morning dew, layering knitwear, scarves, Poppy wearing her tweed coat, great new TV shows (especially those from across the pond) and porridge for breakfast to name but a few!
This morning was very chilly and I needed the perfect breakfast to warm me up and prepare me for the day ahead. Organic porridge did just that. I made the porridge with 50g oats and 300ml skimmed milk, topped with half a banana, a few hazelnuts and a teaspoon of maple syrup.
